The University of West Alabama has announced a partnership with United World Education (UWE) from the United Arab Emirates, aimed at expanding global educational opportunities.

UWA and UWE have formalized a transfer agreement in key academic disciplines, including business administration, finance, computer engineering technology, sport management, and integrated marketing communications. Under this agreement, students enrolled in any of these programs at UWE will have the opportunity to transfer to UWA upon completion of their third year of education.

Students in these specified disciplines will benefit from a cross-cultural educational journey that prepares them for success in an increasingly interconnected global landscape.

“We are excited about this partnership with United World Education, as it aligns with our mission to provide students with a well-rounded and globally-minded education,” said Dr. Mark Davis, dean of international programs at UWA. “This transfer agreement opens up new avenues for international collaboration and cross-cultural learning, ultimately enriching the academic experience for our students at UWA.”

“We are thrilled to partner with UWA to bring its commitment to teaching, student-centered approach, and experiential learning to students from the Middle East. The fact that UWA transformatively supports Alabama’s workforce through student professional growth, apprenticeships, practical skills, and outreach activities appealed to us, so much so that we wanted to bring these experiences home. We are excited about this partnership as we know that UWA will provide our transfer students with a world-class transformative U.S. higher education experience,” said Dr. Sahel Al-Habashneh, executive director of UWE.

The partnership underscores the shared values of UWA and UWE in fostering excellence in education and preparing students for successful careers in their chosen fields. Both institutions are committed to supporting students throughout the transfer process, ensuring a smooth transition and integration into the UWA community.
