Performance Review Process 

Employee Performance Reviews are conducted for all University of West Alabama staff members once a year in the late spring/early summer.  Evaluations will be completed by the supervisor who will evaluate the employee’s workplace performance based on several categories.  All employees are given the opportunity to review and discuss results with their evaluator.

Teacher Retirement System of Alabama 

UWA is part of the Teacher Retirement System of Alabama (TRS).  Full-time employees must participate in the TRS, which provides one of the best retirement programs in the nation.

The Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) requires covered employers to provide up to twelve weeks of unpaid, job-protected leave to eligible employees for certain family and medical reasons.
