Qualifications:

Required

  • Excellent speaking and writing abilities and professional telephone demeanor.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of desktop applications and strong typing skills.
  • Ability to organize the flow of work, including filing, data collection, information, and appointment scheduling.
  • Ability to work effectively with other Divisional staff and other University offices.
  • Strong work ethic and proactive approach to problem-solving.

Desired

  • Previous successful secretarial experience.
  • Work experience in a university environment or K-12 environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Open the Department of Instructional Leadership and Support and Department of Teaching and Learning offices daily.
  • Check all equipment and maintain requests for maintenance, service calls, and supplies needed to ensure proper daily operation.
  • Manage office records such as requisitions, email reminders, calendars, forms, room requests, and files.
  • Distribute mail and faxes to appropriate individuals.
  • Inventory department needs and creates purchase requisitions.
  • Answer telephone and email.
  • Supervise student workers.
  • Attend and prepare minutes for meetings.
  • Keep up with current procedures and curriculum requirements.
  • Assist students, faculty, and staff in person and remotely.
  • Send out reminder emails regarding essential dates and deadlines.
  • Collect syllabi for online courses each term.
  • Collect grades for all College of Education courses each term.
  • Manage online course schedule changes and campus advisor assignments.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the department chairs or other appropriate administrator.
