UWA’s Industrial Maintenance (AAS) degree program, accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET), equips students with a comprehensive understanding of machinery and equipment, making them valuable resources to meet the maintenance demands of various industries.
Upon completing this two-year Associate of Applied Science Degree, graduates not only qualify for admission to other technology majors but also possess the skills to work as industrial machinery mechanics and machinery maintenance workers. Their expertise extends to repairing factory equipment, conveying systems, production machinery and packaging equipment. Alternatively, graduates may pursue a career as millwrights, specializing in the installation, dismantling, repair, reassembly and movement of machinery in factories, power plants and construction sites. The program also offers valuable internship opportunities to provide hands-on experience in the field. With guidance in selecting approved electives, students can chart a career path tailored to their individual interests.
Students pursuing the AAS Industrial Maintenance Degree will choose either the Electrical option or Welding option. Students who complete the AAS in Industrial Maintenance with the Electrical option may pursue the BS in Engineering Technology or the BS in Technology degree. Students who complete the degree with the Welding option may only pursue the BS in Technology degree.
