 Qualifications:

      Required:

  • Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to interact professionally with all members of the University community and external public.
  • Meet the physical demands of a landscaper (see below).
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Dependable transportation.

Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Landscaping Supervisor for The University of West Alabama, this position will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Mow, line trim, water, seed, fertilize, and maintain lawns.
  • Prune and transplant shrubs, spread bark, and maintain flower beds as needed.
  • Pick up trash and other related debris from all landscaped beds as needed.
  • Keep all mulched/landscaped beds free of undesired growth.
  • During inclement weather, some snow and ice removal may be needed.
  • Operation of University vehicles may be required.
  • Some overtime work will be required, including weekends.
  • Any other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

  • Transporting moderately heavy items at times.
  • Performing work outside during all times of the year.
  • Operation of University vehicle.
  • There may be a high level of walking, bending, kneeling required in this position.
