The Office of International Programs at the University of West Alabama is seeking a talented and motivated graduate student to serve as a Graduate Assistant beginning in the fall of 2024. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the promotion and enhancement of international programs at our institution while gaining valuable experience in web design and social media management.

Requirements:

  • Must be a graduate student currently enrolled at the University of West Alabama.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license or ability to obtain one.
  • Experience with web design and social media account management.
  • Availability to work 20 hours per week at the International Programs House, with possible weekend hours.

Duties:

  • Manage and update the UWA International Programs Social Media accounts, including Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube, to promote events, share information, and engage with the international student community.
  • Oversee the UWA International Programs Landing Page website, ensuring it is up-to-date, visually appealing, and user-friendly.
  • Create and curate content for social media platforms and the website, including photos, videos, and written posts, to showcase the diverse cultural experiences and opportunities available through international programs.
  • Collaborate with the Office of International Programs staff to develop and implement strategies for increasing engagement and participation in international events and activities.
  • Monitor social media analytics and website traffic to assess the effectiveness of promotional efforts and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Provide support to international students with inquiries related to web-based resources and social media platforms.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Office of International Programs staff.
