Position: Adjunct Online Instructor: Geographic Information System (GIS)

Required:

  • An earned master’s degree in Geospatial Science, Geography, Geographical Information Science, or a related field.
  • Experience teaching courses in Geographic Information System (GIS) or Geospatial Science programs, e.g., Visualization for GIS and Geospatial Systems.
  • Experience in using geospatial software and hardware.

Desired:

  • Ability to develop and teach GIS courses online.
  • Prior experience teaching GIS courses.
  • Background in GIS, including theoretical knowledge and practical experience using GIS software and tools such as ArcGIS Pro and Python programming and guiding students remotely using such programs. A solid understanding of GIS concepts, spatial data models, relational databases, spatial analysis, and visualization of spatially distributed data.
  • Experience with online teaching platforms and tools.
  • Develop and update course content to meet industry needs and stay current with GIS advancements.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach online GIS courses as assigned.
