Some people say that UWA is one of Alabama’s best-kept secrets.
Maybe it’s because you hear more about gigantic schools where students get lost in the crowd.
Maybe it’s because you’ve heard stories from people about their glory days at Livingston University and didn’t know that was our name for a few decades. The thing is, we’ve grown a lot since 1835, and our names just grew with us.
Maybe it’s because applying for college hasn’t really been your top priority. We get it... you’re trying to make the most of your junior and senior years in high school.
And hey, maybe it’s because we just haven’t connected with you before now.
But now you’ve heard about us, and it’s time to KNOW what UWA has for you.

If it’s biology with field research, communications with real-life clients, fine arts with performance, varsity athletics with championship rings, education with teaching experience, traditional fields of study, or brand-new and innovative degree programs, we have those. After all, we are a four-year University with bachelor’s degrees and a whole lot more (you can even hang around and earn a master’s degree and doctorate here).
You’ll get the academic excellence you need, and we will also show you an amazing college experience on a campus that will change your life. It sounds dramatic, but it’s true. We’re all looking for something that sets us apart from everyone else.
We want to help you find your way in the world.
We can tell you that there’s something special here for you, but you won’t quite get it until you experience it for yourself. Schedule a tour. There’s no commitment to enroll or even apply. Just come see our campus, feel the vibe. When you’re here, we can talk to you about everything we have to offer, including financial aid, so don’t worry about that.
Academics? We’ve been doing that for nearly 190 years. Campus life? We’ve got that covered. Tiger Athletics? We keep our trophies polished. The only thing missing here is you.

If you live in these Mississippi Counties, you can qualify for in-state tuition at UWA. That's huge!
In fact, it means you pay about half as much as others would for out-of-state tuition.
You can enjoy the out-of-state college experience without paying out-of-state tuition. The added bonus, you're close enough to make a quick trip if you're feeling homesick.
(APPLIES ONLY TO CLARKE, JASPER, KEMPER, LAUDERDALE, NESHOBA, NEWTON, NOXUBEE, AND WINSTON COUNTY RESIDENTS)
