The University of West Alabama has partnered with Uwill to expand access to mental health and wellness services, joining more than 500 institutions across the country and globe to provide immediate, flexible support for students.

Through Uwill’s user-friendly online platform, students have free, on-demand access to teletherapy, crisis support, and wellness programming.

“We are very excited to add Uwill to the resources available for our students,” said Will Atkinson, Director of Student Advocacy at UWA. “In response to the growing need for mental health and wellness support, we surveyed our students and identified this as a meaningful way to provide the help they were asking for. Whether it’s by expertise, gender, ethnicity, or language, Uwill empowers students to connect in the way that feels most comfortable and supportive to them.”

With Uwill, students may select a therapist based on their unique needs and preferences, at a time that fits their schedule, and by appointment type preferred (video, phone, chat, message). For students facing a mental health emergency, Uwill offers a crisis connection phone number (833) 646-1526. For medical emergencies, students should call 911.The counselors in the Uwill network are all licensed mental health professionals with extensive clinical experience.
