Claire Taylor
Hi! My name is Claire Taylor, and I am from Butler, Alabama. I spent my high school years at South Choctaw Academy then moved to Mobile shortly after graduation to begin my college years. In the three years I spent obtaining my Bachelor of Science, I enjoyed being involved on campus in various ways. I spent time serving on the Student Government Association and Collegiate Panhellenic Council, as well as within Kappa Delta sorority in many ways. I also got the opportunity to work as a student athletic trainer and an orientation leader on campus. Now, I am glad to be closer to home and my wonderful family! I am excited to serve as a recruitment and enrollment specialist at the University of West Alabama and am looking forward to meeting potential new students. Go Tigers!
Favorite Place on Campus:
My favorite place on campus is anywhere a sporting event is going on. Whether it be football, volleyball, basketball, baseball, rodeo, or anything else– I am sure to enjoy myself at an athletic event.
Favorite UWA Tradition:
My favorite UWA tradition is homecoming week. There are so many fun activities to participate in throughout the week leading up to the big game. From the bonfire pep rally, to the homecoming parade, to the football game, and all in between– the atmosphere on campus this week is like no other!
What do you love most about UWA:
The people that make up this campus are what I love most about UWA. Smiling faces, kind words, and offerings of help are common things found here. How lucky these UWA students are to have such a kind staff surrounding them on a daily basis!
Piece of Advice for Prospective Students:
Moving to college can be a huge step in a young person’s life– remind yourself that you don’t have to have it all figured out right away. One of the biggest ways to enhance your experience is by making friends and getting involved on campus! Don’t forget to also take the time for yourself when you need it. Relax and enjoy the best years of your life!
