Complete the steps below to complete your Application for Degree. If a student does not finish or complete degree requirements, he/she must reapply.

1. Login in Self Service and Select “Graduation Overview”

2. Select “Apply”

Verify that your Program of Study and Major are listed correctly, then click “Apply” under Application Status. If you have applied, you will not be able to apply again.

3. Complete the Application

The application for degree will look like this. Make sure to fill in every area or you will not be able to proceed.

4. Check to ensure your program of study is correct before continuing

5. Select your graduation term from the drop down menu

If your term in not listed, check the application deadlines here. If you still have concerns, please contact the Registrar’s Office.

6. Add your preferred name

This will be the name listed in the program book and on your diploma. Please ensure all spelling and capitulations are correct.

7. Add your Hometown and State/Providence

8. Will you attend the commencement ceremony?

The default selection is yes. If you do not wish to attend, toggle to grey.

9. Select your mailing address

Your diploma will be mailed to this address 6–8 weeks following the commencement ceremony. If the address listed is not correct, select “ship to new address” and add the address where you want your diploma mailed. Do not list your UWA mailbox or a temporary/rental address if you are unsure whether you will still be there when your diploma arrives. Please use a permanent or reliable forwarding address. As a general rule, spring diplomas will be mailed in late September and fall diplomas will be mailed in late January. If your mailing address is outside the US/Canada, select the international shipping option. A $100 international shipping fee will be added, and arrival times may be later.

10. If you are attending, add your guests

The maximum number of guests you may list is 4. Under no circumstances are additional tickets available. If you or one of your guests need special accommodations, please list them here.

11. Click Submit

  • Cap and Gown: There’s a fee for a cap and gown, which can be purchased online through the regalia vendor or on campus through Barnes and Noble.
  • International Diploma Fee: $100 for diplomas sent to international addresses.
