End-of-program student learning outcomes (EPSLOs) have been adopted from the Quality and Safety Education for Nurses (QSEN) and the National League for Nursing (NLN) competencies. The College of Nursing EPSLOs reflect the knowledge, skills, and abilities that a general practice nurse should be able to perform in contemporary practice. Upon completion of the ASN degree, students should be able to:
- Apply critical thinking and clinical judgment when managing patients from diverse cultural, ethnic, and social backgrounds. (NLN, Nursing Judgment; QSEN, Patient-Centered Care)
- Use effective strategies to collaborate with the interprofessional team. (QSEN, Teamwork and Collaboration)
- Utilize current evidence when providing patient care. (QSEN, Evidence-Based Practice)
- Analyze quality improvement actions to reduce risk for patients or the interprofessional team. (QSEN, Quality Improvement)
- Implement nursing interventions to ensure safe patient care outcomes. (QSEN, Safety)
- Use informatics and healthcare technologies to deliver safe, quality care. (QSEN, Informatics)
- Apply professional identity to nursing practice. (NLN, Professional Identity)
