Sammy Kershaw at UWA

The University of West Alabama has announced a fall concert on campus with featuring Sammy Kershaw on Friday, Sept. 10. A limited number of general admission tickets are available for $35 and can be purchased online. Proceeds from the concert benefit renovations at UWA’s Tiger Stadium.

The University of West Alabama expects to enter the fall 2021 semester in person, with continued face-to-face instruction and a return to traditional event schedules. The University will soon release its operational plans for summer and fall 2021, aligning campus health and safety protocols with federal and state guidance.

Lift Every Voice and Sing Discussion UWA

The University of West Alabama will host Dr. Timothy Askew, professor of English and humanities at Clark Atlanta University, for a virtual event in commemoration of Black History Month. The event is co-sponsored by UWA's Diversity & Inclusion Committee and UWA CARES. There is no cost to participate, and the virtual event is open to the public. 

In its ongoing response to the COVID-19 pandemic the University of West Alabama is offering more relief to students by returning a portion of student fees from the fall semester. Students will be reimbursed up to $300 for previously paid student activity and student athletic fees.
The University of West Alabama will delay some of its Homecoming events originally scheduled for October 26-31 in order to adhere to government and health care guidance to preserve health and safety on campus. While some Homecoming events are postponed until spring 2021, UWA will still have a spirit week in October with a schedule of its most popular fall traditions that allow for social distancing and smaller gatherings.
UWA Financial Aid Guidance

The University of West Alabama has recently been recognized most favorably of the Alabama schools included in a ranking that compares college student loan debt. 

The University of West Alabama will begin the new academic year on Monday, Aug. 17. For the first time since mid-March, the school will hold classes on campus. An in-depth plan has been developed to guide daily operations with emphasis on health and safety in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
