The University of West Alabama offers the West Alabama Regional Award to admitted freshmen with a minimum 2.5 high school GPA or 17 or higher ACT score (or comparable SAT score) in the following Alabama counties: Choctaw, Clarke, Greene, Hale, Marengo, Pickens, Sumter, Tuscaloosa and Wilcox.
It's a one-time stackable award that may be renewed for up to four academic years with maintained minimum 3.0 GPA and campus residency.
West Alabama StudentsDo you...
- have at least a 2.5 high school GPA?
- have a 17 or higher ACT score (or comparable SAT score)?
- live in any of these west Alabama counties: Choctaw, Clarke Greene, Hale, Marengo, Pickens, Sumter, Tuscaloosa, or Wilcox?

If you answered yes to the questions above, you can receive a $1,000 West Alabama Regional Award. Here's what you need to do:
- Submit your UWA Admissions Application*
- Once admitted, complete the Trustee Scholarship Application
- Watch your inbox for your award letter

East Mississippi StudentsDo you...
- have at least a 2.5 high school GPA?
- have a 17 or higher ACT score (or comparable SAT score)?
- live in any of these east Mississippi counties: Clarke, Jasper, Kemper, Lauderdale, Neshoba, Newton, Noxubee, or Winston?
If you answered yes to the questions above, you not only can qualify for in-state tuition at UWA, but you may also be eligible for a West Alabama Regional Award. Complete the steps above to take advantage of In-State in your Twin State.
