Admissions Overview

Your journey begins here

Do Something That Matters

It all begins here. College is one of the most important times in your life. In the next four years, you’ll learn and grow in ways that you can’t imagine. At UWA, you’ll find our greatest strengths are small class sizes led by professors who are leaders in their fields. You’ll find lots of opportunities to really get involved, academically, socially, in service. But mostly you’ll find that UWA is like family — where people invest their lives to help you make the most of yours.

At UWA, you’ll be surrounded by people who hold your best interest at heart. You’ll find all the support you need to be successful, even as you work and play harder than you ever have. And when you finish, you’ll find the skills and experiences you’ve gained while earning your degree can take you anywhere in the world you choose.

Apply in Three Easy Steps

We want to make applying as easy, and painless, as possible. You’ll find everything you need here on these pages, but if you find that you have questions or need help, we are here for you. Reach out to speak with an Admission Counselor or you can call our office.

1. Fill out the online form.

We’ve made it as simple as possible. Just pick the appropriate form and get started.

2. Submit your test scores.

UWA accepts either SAT or ACT scores. Please specify UWA on each test application (ACT code #0024; SAT code #1737). If you did not have your test scores sent to UWA directly through the testing center, check with your guidance counselor to find out if test scores are included on your high school transcripts. If not, call ACT at 319.337.1270 or SAT at 866.756.7346 to have your scores sent to UWA. At least one of these scores is required for acceptance for students without 24 transferrable academic hours (12 in basic curriculum).

3. Submit Your High School Transcript.

Once you’ve graduated, be sure that your high school submits your final transcript to us. Submit official high school transcripts from each high school attended. If you are are currently enrolled in high school, you will be required to submit your final transcript (including proof of high school graduation) prior to enrolling at UWA. This is required of all first-time freshmen and transfer students without 24 transferrable academic hours (12 in basic curriculum).

High School Transcripts can be mailed to:

Office of Admissions and Enrollment Management,

UWA Station 4,

Livingston, AL  35470.
