Fengna "Yvette" Gregg, Coordinator of the International Programs at The University of West Alabama (UWA). She received her Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance at UWA and her Master of Business Administration at Mississippi State University (MSU).
Gregg is one of the first cohorts of 2+2 international students who received a dual degree from Guangdong University of Finance in China and UWA. While obtaining her degree at UWA, she worked at the Student Support Service and Athletic Department as a tutor in Business Statistics, Finance, and Economics; she also worked at the International Programs at UWA assisted with marketing and student events; she was the vice president of the International Student Association, the project leader of Enactus, the financial officer of Delta Sigma Pi, an intern at the Small Business Development Center; and she graduated with the University Scholars Award -Finance in College of Business in 2013.
She then went to MSU with a scholarship and worked as a graduate assistant at the Marketing Department. After graduating from MSU in 2015, she returned to her "hometown" in the United States, Livingston, AL, and started working with small businesses that are from all different industries and at all stages on their business/strategic plan, marketing, financial health, and capital access. She enjoys creating positive impacts on the community by helping individuals who want to achieve their dreams and small businesses maintain/expand their businesses. In addition to business counseling, she also serves as an interpreter for AshaKiran which is a non-profit organization that helps foreign-born individuals experiencing crises to overcome barriers.
While working at the SBDC as business counselor in the last couple of years, Gregg has been staying active in the International field by advising international students and serving as a designated school official (DSO) at the International Programs.
In her current role, she will continue to serve as a DSO, advise international students, work with UWA partners and agencies, and assist international students to achieve their dreams, gain a unique experience and be successful.
