International Admission Counselor and Chinese Student Association Advisor.
I’m always grateful for the fresh start I got from the University of West Alabama. Here I found my passion in counseling and helping students within a family-oriented environment. In the past two years, I’ve been coordinating international admissions, organizing multicultural events and attending all educational activities while pursuing my post-graduate education. UWA offered me more than a job but a great beginning of my future career. With all the specialized vocational and professional development I received from my master degree in Student Affairs, I’m now well-prepared to serve my University.
Favorite Place on Campus:
One of my favorite places on campus is International House where I spent hours working with other international students and preparing for cultural events. As a foreigner from another continent, I’m proud to introduce my culture to UWA and embrace American culture, especially southern aspects of the American life.
Favorite UWA Tradition:
Homecoming! I love the enthusiasm and love one can experience during Homecoming. I studied in Canada for about three years, traveled to Singapore and worked in different cities for years in China. But nowhere made me feel like home like Livingston.
What do you love most about UWA:
I love the people at UWA. It is just amazing that how faculty and staff members welcome you to the university as well as the community and they take care of you as you are their own child. I am blessed to have people care about me, help me to go through the all the challenges and witness the development and growth in my life.
Piece of Advice for Prospective Students:
Experience more! There are so many things going on around here that you don’t want to miss. America is not about skyscrapers or shopping malls in Mega cities. It’s about the free spirit and the life it stands for. The memory and experience you are about to have at UWA will last for the life time.
