Early Checkout from Campus Housing
As part of its response to the threat of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), The University of West Alabama will transition on-campus courses to online instruction beginning April 6, 2020. Students are not required to move out of campus housing before the end of the Spring 2020 semester. This update provides instructions for those choosing to move out before the transition begins, as well as additional changes for those remaining in their on-campus housing.
While the University understands that a number of students may choose to check out of their rooms this week, we are not requiring anyone to move out of campus housing at this time.
Residents who choose to move out before the end of the semester must follow the "Early Check-Out" instructions that have been attached to the door to their room.
To facilitate social distancing – the CDC-recommended best practice for prevention of COVID-19 - all visitation within residence halls and campus apartments has been suspended for the remainder of the semester. Residents will be permitted to enter their assigned room/apartment within their assigned residence hall or apartment area only. A temporary exception will be made for friends and family members while they are helping residents move out of their rooms and apartments.
