Spring 2021 COVID-19 Testing
Upon our return for the Spring 2021 semester, COVID-19 testing will be required for all students enrolled in on-campus classes at the University of West Alabama.
Students can register for the test at covidtesting.uwa.edu. Scheduling priority is given to resident students who live in UWA Housing, followed by non-resident students. Testing will begin January 6 and will continue through January 12. Testing will be conducted by appointment only. The test is administered on campus at no cost to students, and failure to participate in re-entry testing may result in deregistration from classes.
Results of the rapid test are expected in 15 minutes while the student is still on site.
NEGATIVE / CLEARED
Upon receiving a negative result, students can then proceed to check in with UWA Housing.
POSITIVE / NOT CLEARED
Students who receive a positive result will take a second test (PCR) during their appointment. While awaiting the result of the PCR test, students are strongly encouraged to return to their permanent residence to quarantine. However, if necessary, student quarantine residences are available by assignment from UWA Housing.
There are some instances in which an off-campus test result will be accepted:
- Positive test between October 9 and January 1 (individual must be symptom-free for a period of at least 10 days)
- Negative test January 1 or later
Students who wish to submit their results from off-campus must email a digital copy of the test result to Will Atkinson (Office of Student Affairs) at firstname.lastname@example.org. Because this testing program is not connected to the fall testing program, those students who have previously submitted test results that fall within the dates listed above must submit for consideration for Spring 2021.
