I am originally from Moundville, Alabama where I attended Hale County High School. My small high school felt even smaller when compared to those in the neighboring town of Tuscaloosa. Being from a small place I always enjoyed the closeness and unity I shared with my classmates and community. UWA, and the town of Livingston, offered me the same hospitality and comradely that I was accustomed to while still being large enough to branch out and have new opportunities. During my time as a student, I was a part of the UWA baseball team, a Student Ambassador, Orientation Leader, manager at the University Cinema, and completed an internship in the UWA Athletic Department. I graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and knew I did not want to leave the school that meant so much to me. After spending time as a graduate assistant, I accepted a full-time position in Admissions.
Favorite Place on Campus:
My favorite place on campus is Tartt Field. There is nothing like spending a day at the ballpark with a nice breeze coming off of Lake LU.
Favorite UWA Tradition:
Without a doubt, Homecoming week. From the Key to Victory, to the parade and football game, I love how Homecoming week brings the whole community of Livingston together.
What do you love the most about UWA:
I love the "down home" feel. The school and community are both so inviting and welcoming. I especially love how much the professors and staff care and truly want their students to succeed.
Piece of Advice for Prospective Students:
Be you! My college experience was amazing and I encourage everyone who come to West Alabama to get involved. With over 60 student organizations, UWA has something for everyone, so get out and find yours!
