Fallon Plowman

I was born and raised in the small town of Gordo, Alabama. As I was searching for a college to continue my education, I knew that I needed the comfy, community atmosphere that I had grown up in. After several other college tours, I finally landed at UWA and knew immediately that this was the place for me. UWA offered me the scholarships I needed and the opportunity to find where I belong on campus super easily. While a student here, I was an active member of Phi Mu Fraternity and the Student Ambassador/Orientation Leader organization. In this role, I fell in love with the idea of working in Higher Education. After graduation, I was lucky enough to begin my career at this university that gave me so much as a growing young adult. UWA truly has the ability to make every student feel welcome and at home, and seeing students find that here is so rewarding.

Favorite Place on Campus:

My favorite place on campus is Brock Hall, which is where the Admissions Office is housed. I spent all of my spare time here during school as a student worker, and it is where I grew so much appreciation for Higher Education employees and where I was able to help students in my own ways through campus tours as a Student Ambassador

Piece of Advice for Prospective Students:

I tell students all the time: It is up to YOU to create your own college experience, and we give you every opportunity to do that at UWA. Get involved! Find where you belong in the UWA community. There is always something to participate in on campus.
