Emily Stuart

As I began my college search process, I was looking for a campus where I would be a name rather than a number. Growing up in the Livingston area and graduating from a small high school, I knew UWA was the perfect fit for me. I was able to stay close to home all while getting unlimited opportunities for campus involvement. In 2015, I completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Integrated Marketing Communications and later my Master of Education in Student Affairs. Both my degrees and experiences gained at UWA as prepared me to go out into the world and be successful. Prior to my undergraduate graduation, I was hired as an Admissions Counselor then transitioned into my current role of Coordinator or Enrollment Communications. The most rewarding part of my job is forming relationships with prospective students and their families as they search for their “home away from home”.

Favorite place on campus:

The Student Union Building (SUB) is my favorite place on campus. The top floor serves as a place to mix and mingle. It’s the perfect spot for a study group or a quiet study spot. The bottom floor fitness center is best of both worlds. A place to connect with friends and community members all while maintaining physical fitness.

Favorite UWA Tradition:

Homecoming week is my favorite tradition. As a student, I spent hours each year searching for the “Key to Victory”. Never found the key, but also enjoyed the hunt. Now as an employee, I love the excitement Homecoming bring the entire campus and town. I cannot wait to share the excitement with my own little UWA Tiger cub.

What do you love most about UWA:

UWA is home. From the second you step on campus you will understand exactly what I mean. You will be greeted with the same welcoming smile from everyone you meet, from the University President to peers.

Piece of advice for prospective students:

Get a planner and use it every day! No item is too big or too small to go in your planning. School work is the most important, but also make sure to schedule fun. Take advantage of our CAB events and unlimited campus involvement opportunities.
