Greetings! My name is Shaw Cornelius and I am originally from the town of Oneonta, AL where I attended Oneonta High School. From an early age, I have been constantly on the move. From swim team to climbing, to quidditch and MMA, I’ve done it all. I specialized in Track and Field/Cross Country which is how I began my college career. I ran cross country at Auburn University at Montgomery for four years and I also had the pleasure of serving with numerous organizations. While at AUM, I served as the secretary of athletic affairs to SGA, Vice-President of the Marketing Club, and manager of the rock climbing wall. Along with these positions, I also hosted Read across America day on campus, and was selected to be a part of the Marketing Honor Society, Mu Kappa Tau. Since arriving to The University of West Alabama, I have had nothing but wonderful experiences from campus, coworkers, and students alike. I have lived all across the state of Alabama in my short time and I have never had so many positive experiences within a short period of time. We have a phrase at West Alabama that is simply, “Do something that matters”. When you come to West Alabama, regardless of what that “Something” is, we will do everything within our power to help you discover it.
Favorite Place on Campus:
Lake LU or the nature trails. I am a HUGE outdoors person which works perfectly being a part of “Alabama’s Outdoor University”. I can usually be found relaxing near the lake, laying in a tree, or running the nature trails.
