The School of Health Sciences and Human Performance houses the Department of Physical Education and Athletic Training.

The mission of the School of Health Sciences and Human Performance at the University of West Alabama is to provide majors an exceptional education which prepares them to be versatile, effective, and competent professionals ready to begin careers in P-12 physical education, exercise science, sport management, athletic training, and health science.

Department of Physical Education and Athletic Training

The Department of Physical Education and Athletic Training offers comprehensive majors in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Health Sciences, Human Performance, Physical Education, and Sport Management. 
Master's degrees include the Master of Athletic Training, the Master of Science in Physical Education (Non-Certification), and the Master of Education in Physical Education (P-12)
Also provided are minors in Emergency Medical Services, Exercise Science, Physical Education, and Sport Management.
The Department includes 12 full-time experienced and diverse faculty members, administrative staff, eight graduate assistants and numerous part-time and adjunct faculty members.
