Undergraduate Requirements for Admission to the Educator Preparation Program

The student must have completed an application to the Educator Preparation Program (EdPP) and that application must be on file in the Dean's office. This application is usually completed in ED 300 [Click to download application].

On the EdPP application the student will indicate when he or she will be ready to be admitted to the EdPP. We use this information to know when to check for admission.

The student must have requested recommendations from at least three UWA faculty members AND those recommendation forms must be completed and on file in the Dean's office.

The student must have a cleared background check through the ABI/FBI. Please go to the following website to find a fingerprint site convenient for you: www.cogentid.com/al/index_ade.htm.

The student must have already completed and passed all required basic curriculum courses.

Overall GPA

Students who began prior to Fall 2014, GPA of 2.5 or above (all classes counted together) with no grade below a “C” in professional studies curriculum or in the teaching field curriculum.
