Department of Accounting, Finance and Economics

Department of Accounting, Finance and Economics

The Accounting, Finance, and Economics Department provides a quality education in preparation for jobs in accounting and financial-related careers. The Department has a successful history with placing qualified students in internships and other experiential learning opportunities while working toward degree completion.

The BBA degree in Accounting and the 150-hour program in preparation for the CPA exam provide majors the necessary education to prepare for accounting careers and graduate school. The 30-hour Finance emphasis area of the BBA degree in Business Administration provides business students the required courses to qualify for financial-related careers — including corporate finance, commercial banking, insurance services, investment management, real estate, financial planning, and other related job opportunities — as well as preparation for graduate school.

The Accounting Club, Finance Club, ENACTUS, and Toastmasters are College of Business and Technology organizations that accounting and finance students are encouraged to join as active members. These organizations provide enriching service and leadership opportunities including interactive guest speaker programs, career-related workshops, competitive award events, field trips, fund raising projects, and community service activities.
