Technical Services Librarian

Effective Date: July 1, 2019




  1. Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA Accredited Institution.

  2. Successful academic library experience.

  3. Experience in classification and cataloging using Voyager and the

  4. DDC classification scheme.

  5. Successful experiences needed to develop strategies that expand online content discovery and delivery, as well as maintain existing physical collections.

  6. Experience in digitization processes and technologies.

  7. Successful experience in continually assessing processes to streamline tasks, reduce redundancies and track material processing from acquisition to user access.

  8. Experience with Microsoft.

  9. Good communications skills, both written and oral.

  10. Strong commitment to service.



  1. Experience in conducting workshops, seminars and conferences.

  2. Successful supervisory experience.

  3. Participation in professional organizations.



  1. Overseeing content management, cataloging, and metadata of the library’s print and online books, serials, audio-visual, electronic collections, packages, databases, etc.

  2. Maintain the integrity of the OPAC.

  3. Oversee records management.

  4. Participate in digitization projects.

  5. Develop long and short-range plans.

  6. Contribute to effective team management.

  7. Develop and follow policy and procedure.

  8. Some evening and weekend work.

  9. Perform other duties as assigned by Director.

Rank and Salary: Assistant Professor, with salary determined by degrees and experience.
