Assistant Professor of Political Science

Effective Date

Full-time, tenure track, 9-month appointment starting 8 August 2018



  1. Earned PhD in Political Science (advanced, exceptional ABD candidates may be considered)
  2. Qualified to teach introductory Philosophy and Logic
  3. A generalist who can teach different fields of Political Science
  4. Ability to work effectively with students, staff, faculty, and administration
  5. Commitment to quality teaching
  6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  7. Documented experience teaching at the collegiate level


  1. Teach four undergraduate courses in Political Science and, as needed, Philosophy and Logic, per academic semester with the opportunity to teach online
  2. Fulfill other faculty responsibilities, including participating in University and community service
  3. Work ten office hours each week, on a fixed schedule
  4. Act as Pre-Law advisor
  5. Perform other tasks as required by the appropriate administrators
