Secondary Education Assistant Professor (non-tenure track)

Effective Date: August 24, 2020


  1. Earned Master's degree in Secondary Education; Specialist in Educational Leadership.

  2. Minimum of eight (8) years in teaching in the 7-12 environment.

  3. Daily on-campus employment

  4. Ability to work effectively with students, staff, faculty, and administration

  5. Commitment to quality teaching

  6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  7. Demonstrated effectiveness in integrating technology and the arts in teaching

  8. Previous experience in teaching courses

  9. Commitment to keeping the program current by reviewing data and recommending curriculum changes as needed.

  10. Evidence of grant authorship, submission, and award


  1. Evidence of scholarly research  


  1. Teach full load on campus

  2. Teach other professional courses as needed

  3. Collaborate with leadership in areas of special education and other areas of education

  4. Fulfill other faculty responsibilities, including advising students, conducting scholarly research and participating in University and community service and service to community organizations and schools.

  5. Serve as lead teacher for online courses as assigned

  6. Supervise and evaluate teacher candidates

  7. Serve as Program Coordinator for secondary programs

  8. Perform other tasks as required by the appropriate administrators

Salary: Dependent upon credentials; includes excellent benefits package
