Nursing (Online adjunct; non-tenure track)

Qualifications

Required

  1. Candidate must have a minimum of a Master of Science in nursing degree.

  2. Must have a valid license to practice professional nursing issued by Alabama or a multistate registered nurse license issued by a party state, as recognized by the Alabama Board of Nursing.

  3. Demonstrate an ability to be effective in non-traditional teaching formats (blended and online courses).

  4. Demonstrate an ability to deliver distance learning content consistent with the corresponding course standards.

  5. Develop online content and other course materials in support of program and course outcomes.

  6. Provide relevant feedback on submitted student work, including participation.

  7. Compile and report grade-related information to students and administration.

  8. Inform and discuss student issues with Chair as applicable.

  9. Work effectively with students, staff, faculty, and administration.

  10. Display a commitment to quality teaching.

  11. Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  12. Participate in regularly scheduled meetings on-campus as required.

  13. Exhibit time management skills - must be able to devote adequate time to courses, communicating timely feedback and engaging regularly in discussion with students and other faculty.

Desired:

  1. Demonstrate proficiency in using a learning management system.

  2. Provide evidence of 3 to 5 years of clinical nursing experience.

  3. Have experience teaching to diverse populations.

Responsibilities:

  1. Teach undergraduate nursing courses

  2. Mentor/Advise students in the Bachelor of Science in nursing program

  3. Serve as a facilitator in assigned courses

  4. Perform other tasks as required by the appropriate administrators.

Rank and Salary: The position is salaried at an established rate per semester. No fringe benefits or retirement is accrued.
