Assistant Men's Basketball Coach

Effective Date: Immediately

 

Qualifications

Essential:

  1. Bachelor’s degree
  2. One-year successful basketball coaching experience
  3. Recruiting ability
  4. Proven ability to develop basketball players
  5. Knowledge of NCAA Division II regulations – Gulf South Conference preferred
  6. Ability to work effectively with administration, faculty, coaching staff, students, alumni, and boosters
  7. Strong written and oral communication skills

Desired:

  1. One to three years of basketball coaching experience
  2. One to two years teaching experience in varsity basketball

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Teach VA 201, varsity basketball for men academic credit
  2. On the court coaching responsibilities assigned by the Head Coach
  3. Ability to scout opponents and breakdown film
  4. Recruiting duties assigned by the Head Coach
  5. Knowledge of strength and conditioning
  6. Other duties assigned by the Head Coach and Athletic Director; position will have a dual reporting relationship with AD and HC.

Salary: Dependent upon credentials; includes excellent medical and retirement benefits.
