Library Media (online, non-tenure-track)

Effective Date: January 7, 2019

Required:

  1. Earned doctoral degree in education preferably in the area of library media from an accredited program.

  2. Experience as a K-12 library media specialists

  3. Ability to work effectively with students, staff, faculty, and administration

  4. Commitment to quality teaching

  5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  6. Demonstrated effectiveness in applying technology to teaching

  7. Previous experience in teaching courses, preferably in the online environment

  8. Commitment to keeping the program current by reviewing data and recommending curriculum changes as needed

Desired:

  1. Previous experience in a variety of settings (K-12, higher education)

  2. Evidence of scholarly research and grant writing

Responsibilities:

  1. Teach online graduate level courses

  2. Teach other professional courses as needed

  3. Provide leadership in the design and oversight of library media courses

  4. Fulfill other faculty responsibilities, including advising students, conducting scholarly research and participating in University and community service and service to community organizations and schools

  5. Serve as lead teacher for online courses as assigned

  6. Serve as Program Coordinator for Library Media programs

  7. Perform other tasks as required by the appropriate administrators

     

Salary: Dependent upon credentials; includes excellent benefits package
