International Admissions Counselor
The University of West Alabama in Livingston has an opening for the position of an International Admissions Counselor.
Minimum Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Student Affairs or related field; at least one-year experience in international admission and/or recruiting; must be fluent in English language and Mandarin Chinese language; Position requires extensive travel to China.
Preferred: Master’s degree in student affairs or a related field; three years of experience in admission and recruiting of international students; excellent oral and written communication skills; experience in global studying, working, living or traveling.
Applicant must possess the skills necessary to serve as the international admissions counselor and recruiter for international students, especially students from China.
Applicant would assist and counsel international students in the admission process.
Applicant will review international students’ admission applications for completeness and process the application packages.
Will work simultaneously with Admissions and the Office of International Programs regarding required immigration documents for the Form I-20 process of international students.
MUST be willing to travel to Mainland China for extensive recruiting trips and serve as the on-ground recruiter in China for international and/or exchange students.
Applicant may be required to organize and/or coordinate international students’ day or related events on campus.
Applicant must attend training and professional workshops related to international students’ affairs.
