Adjunct Instructor - Clinical Supervisor

Effective Date: August 10, 2021



  1. Master’s degree or higher in an appropriate education field or B.S. in Education with a National Board Certification for Teachers (NBCT)
  2. Current Teaching and/or Administrative license is preferred
  3. Possess successful supervisory experience with developing teachers
  4. Ability to work effectively with teacher candidates, staff, faculty, and administration
  5. Commitment to quality teaching
  6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  7. Successfully complete the Clinical Educator training provided by UWA (summer training – to be scheduled)
  8. Familiarity with edTPA
  9. Demonstrate effectiveness with technology


  1. Participate in orientation meetings at the beginning of the semester as requested by the Coordinator of Clinical Experiences
  2. Supervise, observe, coach, and evaluate teacher candidates using the university scoring rubrics
  3. Conduct weekly observations and provide detailed feedback with candidate towards continuous improvement of their practice
  4. Meet regularly with teacher candidates and cooperating teachers
  5. Make sure the teacher candidate and the cooperating teacher receive a copy of the Student Teaching Handbook and any other necessary forms. Discuss any parts of the handbook/forms that may need clarification
  6. Provide ongoing mentoring to teacher candidates
  7. Attend all required trainings for clinical supervisors
  8. Collaborate with UWA’s edTPA Leadership Team
  9. Report any potential problems or difficulties to the Coordinator of Clinical Experiences as soon as possible
  10. Perform other tasks as required by the appropriate administrators
