  Computer Information Systems (tenure-track, rank open)

  Effective Date: January 1, 2019



  1. Applicants should have a PhD in CIS, MIS, BIS, IS, or closely related field, from an ACBSP, AACSB, ABET, IACBE, or regionally accredited institution. ABD’s will be considered.

  2. Minimum of 18 hours of graduate course work in Computer Information Systems or related field.

  3. Evidence of successful college teaching experience.

  4. Evidence of successful research or scholarly activity.

  5. Ability to work effectively with administration, faculty, staff, and students from varied socio-economic/ethnic backgrounds.


  1. Administrative experience as Department Chair or equivalent leadership role.

  2. Minimum 5 years’ experience in information systems, or related field.

  3. Practical knowledge of Blackboard learning systems.

  4. Experience in regional higher education environment.

  5. Experience with course and curriculum development.

  6. Evidence of active participation in professional organizations, public service, and research.


  1. Teach four courses in discipline per term unless release time is authorized. 

  2. Teach other courses for which qualified when assigned, on-campus or online.

  3. Student advising, committee assignments, appropriate public service, research, professional development, and other tasks as assigned.

  4. Perform other duties as assigned by The Department Chairperson and/or Dean.

  Rank and Salary:

  1. Salary is dependent upon training and experience; includes excellent medical and retirement benefits package

  2. Candidates invited for interviews are required to present a 20-30-minute lecture/lesson in the teaching area.

  3. Candidates invited for interviews are expected to discuss their research interests and their application to undergraduate students.
