Assistant Professor in Biological Sciences (tenure-track)

Qualifications:

Required:

  1. Ph.D. in Biological Sciences

  2. Commitment to quality teaching

  3. Ability to direct undergraduate and graduate research

  4. Ability to work effectively with administration, faculty, staff and students from varied socio-economic/ethnic backgrounds

Desired:

  1. Postdoctoral experience in Biology or related field

  2. Background in Microbiology

  3. Successful teaching in a small student-centered regional university setting

  4. Successful experience in directing undergraduate and graduate research

  5. Experience and interest in computer technologies and instruction

  6. Successful experience in advising students

  7. Experience with online courses

 

Responsibilities

  1. Teach Microbiology and other courses based on the departmental needs

  2. Direct undergraduate and graduate research

  3. Serve on departmental and University committees

  4. Perform other duties as assigned by the Chairperson and Dean

  5. Fulfill other duties expected of a faculty member, such as student advising, departmental recruitment and retention activities, public service, etc.

Salary: Dependent upon training and experience; includes excellent health benefits package
