    Division of Nursing

    Qualifications: 

    1.  Education:       Minimum of graduation from a standard senior high school. 
    2.  Experience:     Three to five years of general secretarial or office management experience, with expertise in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.  Knowledge of health care-related technology and Blackboard Learning Management System. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and familiarity with social media.  Ability to prioritize and complete projects within a deadline. 

    Responsibilities:

    1. Type all correspondence for the Division of Nursing.
    2. Receive, sort, and distribute all mail to personnel in the Division of Nursing.
    3. Order all clerical supplies for the Division of Nursing.
    4. Organize correspondence requiring attention of the Division of Nursing.
    5. Establish and maintain files (student, personnel, and miscellaneous) for the Division of Nursing.
    6. Answer correspondence requiring standard information or materials, i.e., information relevant to the nursing program.
    7. Request monies for travel expenses.
    8. Type curriculum and instructional materials for nursing faculty.
    9. Act as a receptionist; receive, screen, and route visitors; answer routine inquiries by phone or in person, or refer to appropriate person or department.
    10. Maintain inventory of standard office supplies and equipment.
    11. Operate standard office equipment.
    12. Maintain and send a record of the work hours of office personnel and work-study students to the personnel office.
    13. Prepare work orders for maintenance of the building.
    14. Prepare purchase requisitions for the Division of Nursing and send these to the Purchasing Office.
    15. Maintain electronic files of all correspondence and records, including student records.
    16. Type and file minutes of committee meetings for the Division of Nursing.
    17. Assure that all utilities, other than heat and air-conditioning, are turned off and all doors and files are locked at the end of each working day.
    18. Maintain calendar of reservations for 3rd and 4th Floor of Spieth Hall, classrooms and computer labs.
    19. Assist with set-up, management, and maintenance of electronic/computer adaptive products as requested by DON chairperson.
    20. Assist in data collection and maintenance activities within the Division of Nursing.
