Being a part of the Greek system at any college or university is an individual choice. Once becoming a member of a fraternity or sorority your world view of what it means to be a part of an organization dedicated to bettering the lives of its membership will grow according to your involvement and the level by which your organization follows the ideals of its founders. By nature the social/service fraternity and sorority system can jump start a student’s involvement on campus and in the community through volunteer work, fundraising, intramural competitions, service to others, and social activities. The pulse of a college is often taken by the involvement of its Greek organizations. UWA’s Greek community consists of 13 nationally recognized organizations.
