    POSITION:              Financial Aid Technical Coordinator

    REPORTS TO:        Director of Financial Aid

    Effective Date:     Friday, November 10, 2017

    The Financial Aid Technical Coordinator is a vital link between the Financial Aid Center and the university's Information Technology Staff.  The coordinator operates as a resource for financial aid staff and must possess knowledge and understanding of Financial Aid services in order to effectively answer questions and offer solutions to our staff. The ideal candidate for this position will be an enthusiastic member of the team who will be instrumental in continuing to evolve and improve processes within the Financial Aid departments and focus on maintaining a student-centric environment. Must be available Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Occasional overtime may be required.

    Essential:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Accounting or related field.
    • Proven ability to interact with end users to transform their requirements into working solutions
    • Strong technical and business understanding
    • Strong analytical, problem solving and project management skills

    Desired:

    • Work experience in a higher education setting
    • Experience with Datatel Colleague ERP with a working knowledge of database tables and fields
    • Experience using SQL based reporting tools
    • Basic knowledge in the area of financial aid and/or banking and finance

    Functions:

    • Act as main point of contact for technical support with Ellucian.
    • Properly document all work and aid in creating procedures manuals.
    • Aid in designing and implementing reports using Datatel Reporting and Analytics system (with SAP Business Objects) with appropriate IT staff members.
    • Perform system maintenance and performance tuning including new-year setup.
    • Stay up to date on system updates and train users as necessary. 
    • Work with Financial Aid users concerning day-to-day problems including some processing, troubleshooting and testing.
    • Act as a conduit between IT and The Financial Aid Center.
    • Learn and stay current on federal regulations as it pertains to processing in Datatel.
    • Tackle special projects as assigned by the Director.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director.
