• Fine Arts Department Chair

     

    Effective Date: August 15, 2015

    The Fine Arts Department Chair is a nine-month faculty position chiefly responsible for overseeing the Theatre, Music, and Art programs and teaching courses in the candidates area of expertise.  

    Qualifications:

    Required

    1. M. F. A. or PhD in Theatre, Music, or Art from an accredited institution
    2. Ability to teach classes in one of the following areas Theatre, Music, or Art
    3. Administrative experience at the collegiate level
    4. Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaborative skills
    5. Ability to work successfully with diverse populations in the regional university setting
    6. Experience developing new curriculum and program development

    Desired:

    1. Successful teaching experience at the college level
    2. Experience working with multiple artistic disciplines
    3. Strong professional profile including current publication, performance, or exhibition
    4. Strong background in recruiting and curriculum development

    Responsibilities:

    1. Responsible for continuing to build and develop an Interdisciplinary Arts Degree Program
    2. Serve as the primary budgetary officer for the department
    3. Continue to develop curriculum and course offerings as the program continues to blossom
    4. Coordinate exhibitions, performances, and programming for the Fine Arts Department
    5. Teach courses in Theatre, Music, or Art
    6. Participate in the strategic planning process for the university
