LIVINGSTON, Ala.—The University of West Alabama’s College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics gives third through six graders the opportunity to explore chemistry through a series of safe, simple and exciting experiments during the free science enrichment program Saturday, March 19.

In the Science Saturday workshop titled “Cabbage Chemistry,” students will enjoy adventures in the lab with faculty from the Department of Physical Sciences.

The Science Saturdays outreach program, which takes place one Saturday each month, allows students in elementary, middle, and high schools in and around Sumter County to conduct hands-on scientific learning activities supervised by UWA faculty. These activities are free of charge and open to any children in the appropriate age groups. The series is supported, in part, by a grant from the Sumter County Nature Trust.

The Science Saturdays workshop takes place from 9:30-11:30 a.m. in Bibb Graves Hall. Space is limited. To reserve a spot or for more information, please contact Rosie Campbell at 205-652-3414 or  rmc@uwa.edu.
