Spieth Hall is named after Dr. Alda May Spieth, a professor of biology who retired as the head of the natural sciences department in 1968.
Spieth Hall is a Freshman Focused Community for men. Most of the students that live at Spieth Hall are in their first year of college, though other men are welcome.
