To be considered for academic, leadership or alumni scholarship assistance a student must meet unconditional Admissions standards (19 or higher ACT and 2.0 or better GPA) and apply for admission and scholarship by February 28th.

ACADEMIC RELATED SCHOLARSHIPS
Alabama Power Scholarship – amount varies. Available to full-time students enrolled in the College of Natural Sciences and Math, majoring in Environmental Science. The recipient must be a legal resident of Alabama. Contact the Dean of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at (205) 652-3414.
Charles F. Loveless Scholarship – amount varies. Undergraduates majoring in English or Language Arts must have completed at least 60 hours and maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA in major courses. Graduate students must have a 3.0 GPA overall and in major courses. Priority consideration is given, but not required, to those with military service. Chris King Memorial Business Scholarship – amount varies. Available to residents of Kemper County (Mississippi) pursuing a major in the College of Business. Letters of recommendation encouraged. Colquitt Languages and Literature Memorial Scholarship – amount varies. Contact the Chair of the Languages and Literature Department in the College of Liberal Arts at (205) 652-3641.
Darryl Hutcheson Memorial Scholarship – amount varies. Available to students majoring in technology or industrial technology. Contact the Dean of the College of Business at (205) 652-3471.
Julia Tutwiler Scholarship Fund – $750 per year renewable. Available to education majors in good academic standing. Contact the Dean of the College of Education at (205) 652-3421.
Minnie W. Sanders Memorial Scholarship – amount varies. Available to elementary education major of junior or senior standing. Minimum 3.0 GPA required. Contact the Dean of College of Education at (205) 652-3421.
ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIPS
Alumni Chapter Scholarships- Scholarships reserved for residents of each individual county listed below. Contact Alumni Office at (205) 652-3852. Baldwin, Mobile, Tuscaloosa, Choctaw, Pickens, Wilcox, Marengo, Sumter Counties.
Baldwin County Education Fund – $600 per year (renewable). Available to residents of Baldwin County (Alabama) with a “B” high school average. Must maintain a 2.75 GPA. Recommendation letters from UWA alumni encouraged. Contact the Alumni Office at (205) 652-3852.
India L. Shields Memorial Scholarship – $2600 per year (renewable). Available to Marengo County (Alabama) incoming freshmen. Must maintain minimum 2.75 GPA each semester. Recommendation letters from UWA alumni encouraged. Contact the Alumni Office at (205) 652-3852.
Gladys Mason Scholarship – amount varies. Renewable for two years. Available to Wilcox County (Alabama) sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Must maintain minimum 2.75 GPA each semester. Recommendation letters from UWA alumni encouraged. Contact the Alumni Office at (205) 652-3852.
McLain Memorial Scholarship – amount varies (renewable). Awarded to incoming freshmen that are residents of Alabama. Must be a female student and show demonstrated leadership and financial need. Student must reside on campus and maintain a 2.75 GPA. Incoming freshmen must have a minimum 19 ACT. Recommendation letters from UWA alumni encouraged. Contact the Alumni Office at (205) 652-3852.
Sarah B. Cunningham Memorial Scholarship – amount varies. Available to Sumter County (Alabama) residents incoming freshmen or transfers. Contact the Alumni Office at (205) 652-3852.
Tagged for Success Scholarship – amount varies. Must maintain 2.75 GPA each semester. Available to junior and senior Alabama residents. Contact the Alumni Office at (205) 652-3852.
The Malone Fund – Available to students from Mobile and Baldwin Counties (Alabama) who plan to major in elementary education and need financial assistance. Must maintain a 2.75 GPA. Contact the Alumni Office at (205) 652-3852.
James P. Homer Memorial Scholarship – $800 for freshman year; $400 for sophomore, junior, and senior years. Must maintain 2.75 GPA each semester. Minimum three letters of recommendation required. Open to all graduating high school seniors who wish to attend UWA. Alumni recommendation and financial need given strong priority but must show leadership abilities as well as academic abilities. Winton and Naomi Wise Memorial Scholarship – amount varies. Awarded to students that demonstrate high academic standards and ACT scores, leadership, and financial need. Letters of recommendation required. Must maintain a 2.75 GPA. Contact the Alumni Office (205) 652-3852.
Sharon Smith Pafford Scholarship - amount varies. Available to students in good academic standing in English, music or physical education. Priority will be given to students graduating from Central High School in Camden, Tennessee and Livingston High School in Livingston, Alabama. Contact the Alumni Office @ (205) 652-3852.

Skipper Fireman Scholarship – tuition each semester plus $75 per semester for books. Available for students from Clarke or Washington Counties (Alabama). J.L. Bedsole Scholars Program – A scholarship based on character and leadership. Financial need must be demonstrated. Must be graduating from an accredited school in the following Alabama counties: Mobile, Clarke, Baldwin, Monroe, or Washington (Graduates of Sweetwater High School also eligible).
