The Small Business Development Center of the University of West Alabama will host a small business training and education event at the Demopolis Higher Education Center on Jan. 29 to assist small business owners with preparing and filing taxes.

The event will focus on equipping small business and prospective business owners with the knowledge and resources for preparing and filing business taxes. Tax law changes will also be discussed.

The training session will feature presenters from the Internal Revenue Service and the Alabama Department of Revenue, as each entity offers hands-on learning opportunities for attendees.

The event begins at 8:30 a.m. and continues until 12:30 p.m. The agenda includes an opening session and two morning sessions of taxpayer information. Attendees should arrive at 8 a.m. There is no cost to attend, but pre-registration is required.

To register for the training session, call UWA’s Small Business Development Center at 205-652-3665, email jwear@uwa.edu or visit www.westalabamaconferencesandevents.com.
