• bby Publications at UWA announces Fraction Boot Camp scheduled for June 25

     The University of West Alabama’s bby Publications will host a Fraction Boot Camp for third through sixth grade and special needs teachers June 25-28 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30pm. The class encourages teachers to incorporate an interactive strategy for exploring “The Common Core Standards for Mathematics” in both large and intervention settings.

    All sessions of Fraction Boot Camp will be held at UWA’s Land Hall, and teachers that attend can earn professional development credit while increasing their own mathematical growth in the knowledge of concepts related to fractions.

    “We are looking forward to introducing our newest product Curiosity Bait: Fraction Bait and the eight accompanying Practice Pages to our consultants at the third annual bby Publications Summer Institute” said Chasity Taylor, professional development coordinator for bby Publications.

    Registration for Fraction Boot camp is $600, and the class includes a copy of “Curiosity Bait: Fraction Bait,” four accompanying “Practice Pages” and the “Curiosity Bait Card Holder.” The products alone are valued at $220.

    The new guide will make its debut at bby Publications’ Summer Institute, the organization’s annual meeting for consultants.
