The University of West Alabama’s College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics invites elementary to high school school students in and around Sumter County to the next in its series of Science Saturdays on Dec. 1 from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at Bibb Graves Hall on the UWA campus. UWA professors, Dr. Jeffery Merida and Dr. Janis Beaird will present a talk about the amazing human brain and will teach students how to dissect a sheep brain to learn more about how the brain functions.

Science Saturdays are designed to give young students early exposure to the world of science. The sessions create excitement and enthusiasm that students need not only to learn the basics of science, but also gain the tools to further their studies in the field.

The workshop is free and open to all children in third through eighth grades. Spaces are limited. For more information or to reserve a spot, please email Rosie Campbell or call 205-652-3414. For more information please visit Science Saturday's website at Science Saturday's website
