• Jemison named Miss Paragon at UWA

    Miracle Jemison of Meridian, Miss., was crowned Miss Paragon at the University of West Alabama on April 12. The junior exercise science major is the daughter of Walter Jemison and Miranda Pulley. The pageant is sponsored by the Blue Key Honor Society at UWA.

    Jemison, who was crowned by Miss Paragon 2015 Anna Marie Caldwell of Northport, Ala.

    “The pageant was such a great experience, and I am so thankful to be crowned Miss Paragon 2016,” Jemison said. “There were many beautiful young ladies competing for the title as well, and I enjoyed walking the stage with them. I would like to thank The Drug Store of Livingston for sponsoring me, Magical Moments Formal Attire for helping me find my beautiful dress, and Blue Key Honor Society for hosting the pageant.”

    The top twelve ladies chosen are named Livingston’s Loveliest. The top twelve are Michaela Cox of Russellville, Ala.; Dora Annette D’Accardi of Hueytown, Ala.; Savannah Donner of Buhl, Ala.; Brooke Dotson of Citrus Springs, Fla.; Keri Giles of Livingston, Ala.; Makaila Howard of Greensboro, Ala.; Miracle Jemison of Meridian, Miss.; Erin Jimerson of Butler, Ala.; Jennifer Le of Thomasville, Ala.; Hannah McCracken of Trussville, Ala.; Kennedi Sanders of Columbus, Miss; and Victoria Washburn of Demopolis, Ala.

    Blue Key Fraternity President Fhallon Ware-Gilmore and Anna Marie Caldwell, Miss Paragon 2015, served as emcees for the event. Entertainment for the event was provided by UWA’s Tiger Idol contestants, Jay Chatman, Kendairus McNeese, and Preston Thomas. Tiger Idol winner Preston Thomas was chosen via text message live from the pageant.
    Blue Key is a national leadership honor society that recognizes men and women for leadership in extra-curricular and academic affairs. The Miss Paragon pageant raises money for the Blue Key emergency fund used to help students who cannot afford books.
