“Ever’ body’s got secrets,” say the citizens of Second Samuel, Georgia, a small town in the late 1940’s. The Birmingham Park Players will bring the people and secrets of Second Samuel to Sumter County on Thursday, Sept. 12, at 7:30 p.m. in Bibb Graves Auditorium on the University of West Alabama campus. The event marks the opening of the 2013-14 season for the Sumter County Fine Arts Council.

Playwright Pamela Parker’s comedy/drama is produced by special arrangement with The Dramatic Publishing Company of Woodstock, Illinois. The Birmingham Park Players is a nonprofit theatrical organization dedicated to the performance of quality plays and making them accessible to a wide audience in Alabama.

General admission is $10 for adults and $2 for students. Sumter County Fine Arts Council members and UWA students are admitted free. UWA students must provide a valid student I.D. for free admission.

The Sumter County Fine Arts Council receives support from the Alabama State Council on the Arts, the National Endowment for the Arts, the University of West Alabama and other agencies, businesses and individuals.
