    JOB DEFINITION: The Intramural Coordinator is responsible for coordinating a comprehensive intramural program.

    DUTIES:
    • Plan, organize, publicize, administer and evaluate the intramural program  at the University of West Alabama.
    • Recruit, select, train, schedule, supervise and evaluate all game officials and scorekeepers for the intramural program.
    • Supervise and evaluate student workers and a graduate assistant.
    • Sign timecards and monitor payroll of student workers.
    • Implement policies, rules and regulations for intramural activities and recreational programs and facilities.
    • Assist with scheduling and use of campus recreational facilities with other university departments, such as Athletics and Physical Plant.
    • Plan and oversee Outdoor Recreation.
    • Assist with programs sponsored by the Office of Student Activities and the Office of Student Life.
    • Assist the Division of Student Affairs with special projects and coordinate other tasks deemed necessary by the Director of Student Activities.

    SUPERVISION:

    • The Intramural Coordinator Sports reports to the Director of Student Activities.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:

    • The position of Coordinator requires a bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Recreation or a related field. At least one year of experience in recreational sports or intramurals is required.

    DESIREABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

    • A master's degree in Recreational Sports Administration, Physical Education, College Student Personnel, or a related field is preferred.  Professional membership within the National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA) would be beneficial. NIRSA Registry preferred.
