Core Curriculum Requirements
Students transferring from Alabama public two-year and four-year colleges and universities should consult the AGSC site for complete details regarding Areas I-IV for all majors, including the list of approved courses for each institution. Specific requirements for students majoring in English at Alabama public two-year schools and for UWA pre-English majors are included below.
AREA I -- Written Composition (6 semester hours)
AGSC: No specific courses required for English majors beyond the AGSC requirements.

AREA II -- Humanities and Fine Arts (15 semester hours)

UWA: Students planning to complete the bachelor's degree in English are required to complete the pattern in humanities and fine arts as listed below:
